With November coming to a close, the air is colder, the days are shorter, and campus is busier than ever! This part of the year is always hectic, but we hope you’re finding the time to take care of yourself—perhaps with a cozy book or two?
YAing Updates
First, let’s start with what’s been going on here at Young Adulting in the latter half of November. We’ve published some marvellous reviews this month. Here’s a recap:
- “This graphic novel is not only a brilliant addition to the horror genre, but a sincere attempt to capture the complexities of modern Indigenous life.” Ibha Gupta reviews Bad Medicine by Christopher Twin
- “These instances of horror showcase Klassen’s ability to push the boundaries of children’s literature, creating a tale that not only entertains but also challenges readers’ emotions and expectations. The evocative yet simplistic writing style further conveys sense of dread throughout the story and makes this book great for younger readers interested in exploring scarier genres.” Hooria Bilal reviews The Skull by Jon Klassen
While we are busy behind the scenes editing more reviews, we will be publishing reviews each Thursday. We will be back to posting two reviews a week in December!
